Another Child Goes Missing. . .or Worse
(Courtesy Tempe, Arizona Police Department)
The day after Christmas 2009 was the last time anyone saw Baby Gabriel with his mother Elizabeth Johnson in San Antonio, Texas.
(ABC news)
According to an abc.com report, ‘Gabriel was last seen Dec. 26 in San Antonio with his mother, 23-year-old Elizabeth Johnson. She was arrested Dec. 30 in Florida and has been charged in Arizona with kidnapping, child abuse and custodial interference.’ Now, Texas police are treating the case as a homicide. The story goes on:
‘McQueary (the child’s father) and Johnson were in the middle of a custody dispute when Johnson left Tempe with the baby Dec. 18.
‘Authorities said Johnson and her baby were in San Antonio Dec. 20-27 and spent her time in two hotels. Authorities say that on Dec. 27, Johnson was seen boarding a bus to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., but Gabriel wasn’t with her.
‘Johnson has refused to say where the baby is, but told Gabriel’s father she killed him and threw his body in a trash bin. But in a phone interview with Phoenix television station KPHO, Johnson said she gave Gabriel to a couple she didn’t know at a San Antonio park and that she said she killed the child to get back at McQueary.’
She said she killed the child to get back at McQueary. Even if that proves to be true, my God, what is the world coming to? Have some parents lost their minds?
Daily, we read about parents doing horrible, tragic things to their children to get back at their spouses – to prove that they are the ones who still retain control in the relationship. A few years back, on Oprah, I watched a woman recount how her husband took their daughters for a visit (I believe it was around Christmas). Once he had them at his place, he called their mother. While she listened to her children crying on the other end of the line and pleading with their father not to hurt them, he berated the mother for causing him to do this. And what was the this he was referring to? He shot his daughters – he murdered them in cold blood while their mother listened horrified. Because he wanted to get back at her.
Some people murder their children for far more selfish reasons. Susan Smith drowned her children because they were inconvenient to her plans for a new romance.

Casey Anthony is charged with murdering her daughter for reasons that appear to be equally selfish – she found the child inconvenient to her freedom and lifestyle.

What made these monsters so selfish and narcissistic. Were they born that way or did we make them that way?
It’s been said that we require people to get a license to drive a car, yet we have no test for people to take to become parents.
As a writer of romance, I’ve always wanted to believe in the HEA – Happily Ever After. That two people in love stay together, have children and lead wonderful lives. Maybe that’s why I write romance, reality is so far different from my stories and those of others. It’s so often more tragic.
One can only hope that the police are wrong and that baby Gabriel is still alive, in the care of someone who loves him and that he’ll have his HEA.
For this poor child, that’s all we have left is hope and prayer.

Hi:
Unfortunately people, especially children, go missing every day. There are a great number of methods in place to help find the missing BUT one very obvious method is totally ignored, not to say impossible until WrapMail (www.wrapmail.com) developed its technology: email. Not email-blasts BUT using the emails people send every day anyway (one-on-one emails)!
Corporate and Government employees send emails ever day, these emails go to the public, business and government agencies but when they arrive they are plain black on white.
Each of these emails could have a wrap surrounding the email that in addition to information and links to the respective websites also could feature pictures of missing adults and/or children. WrapMail, Inc.’s technology allows for dynamic rotation so that every single email that is sent out could feature new missing kids so that every single one is exposed to the receiving audience. There are already RSS feeds out with data on missing kids that can be incorporated into a wrapmail. This is the milk carton of the 21st Century! All emails that leave WrapMail, Inc. have an amber alert on the bottom, currently linking to missing children in Florida where WrapMail is headquartered. This RSS feed comes from the Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
These pictures could have embedded hyperlinks that lead to pages with more details (such as more pictures, last seen, clothes worn, last seen with etc).
There are about 50 billion emails sent every day; one-on-one emails that is, every one of them could be looking for missing children.
The bottom line is that these emails are sent every day anyway – why not use them for something good? WrapMail offers their solution for free for approved organizations (organizations that focus on finding missing adults and children) as they, like everyone else, send external emails every day. WrapMail further offers its clients to incorporate this feature for free either with just an amber alert or a rotation of missing people with every outbound email.
